Did you know it takes nearly two months of exercise before you’ll start to see a difference in your fitness? A recent poll of 2,000 adults reveals what goals people prioritize when it comes to their fitness. Top goals include losing weight (43%), increasing general strength (43%), and improving mobility (35%).

However, staying motivated is tricky for many. Nearly half of the respondents (48%) worry about losing their drive, and 65 percent believe their motivation fades over time. Typically, people stay motivated for about four weeks before needing a new push. The survey, commissioned by Optimum Nutrition and conducted by Talker Research, also discovered that diet plays a huge role in keeping fitness motivation high (89%).

Surprisingly, nearly three in ten (29%) think they don’t get enough protein in their diet, with Gen X feeling it the most (35%). Moreover, 35 percent of women and 23 percent of men feel they lack protein. The average person skips protein in two meals a day, but a whopping 61% are willing to up their intake to reach their fitness goals.

Despite these challenges, half of the respondents are optimistic, believing their best physical days are ahead. So, keep pushing and stay inspired, because those fitness goals are totally within reach!
